Members Our staff members have spent many
years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and
have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify
them as instructors and trainers.
Through
extensive training, certification and dedication, our
staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy
sharing their skill and passing it on to our members.
Here are a few of Medfit Wellness Center's staff
members:
James Clark,
MD (President and Medical
Director)
Dr. Clark is a physician who is
passionate about exercise, nutrition and
preventive health. He completed a residency in
Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia
and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the
world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He has a
private practice next door in addition to running
MedFit. In his free time, he enjoys catching frogs
and chasing butterflies with his two sons, Adam
and Zach.

Jenny Clark
(Vice President, Marketing) Jenny has been
interested in exercise and wellness since she
played volleyball and softball as a high school
athlete. She worked for 10 years in hospital
public relations and learned that prevention is
the best form of medicine. She has a journalism
degree for Northwestern University. She loves to
walk outdoors and play at Pen Park with her two
sons, Adam and Zach.

Nancy
Crickenberger (Director of First
Impressions) Nancy is the morning front desk
receptionist, and she does it all! She knows each
of the members well, and stays abreast of their
lives and needs. No wonder they bring her food and
fresh flowers so often! She has been with MedFit
over 4 years, and is a valuable member of the
team. Her office skills are excellent and she keep
things flowing smoothly (even when that copier
gets jammed). She makes an impeccable first
impression to everyone who comes in the door. Her
favorite hobby is gardening and she hopes to one
day live by the ocean.

Shirley
Fritz (Business Director)
Shirley was once a member of
MedFit and we were so impressed with her, we
recruited her to work here! She is passionate
about wellness and she loves working with people.
She is also incredibly organized and great with
numbers. Shirley has two children, Mike and Marcy.
She has 2 grandchildren (Matteo and Marta) and a
third on the way. Shirley is married to Don Fritz
(another MedFit member). She enjoys gardening,
theater, and her grandchildren!

Jill Grindstaff (Fitness Director,
Personal Trainer)
 Jill is originally from Omaha,
Nebraska where she attended Creighton University and
obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science.
She then lived in Nashville, Tennessee where she
attended Middle Tennessee State University and got
her Masters Degree in Health & Physical Education
and Recreation Sciences. She is a certified
strength and conditioning specialist and she is also
a National Strength and Conditioning Association
certified personal trainer. Jill and her
husband moved to Charlottesville in 2004. One
of Jill's favorite things to do is help people reach
their fitness goals.

Gladys Haney
(Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer) Gladys is one of
Medfit's personal trainers. Her kind words
will make you feel comfortable from the moment you
walk in the door. She has attended PVCC and has
taken classes in accounting and computers. She was
born in Virginia and has had previous jobs with
the Albemarle County Police Department and UVA
Gamma Knife Center. In her spare time she enjoys
spending time with her five year old
granddaughter, Miranda.

Cindy Meyers
(Aerobics Instructor, Physical Therapy Assistant) Cindy is a friendly and outgoing
fitness professional who loves people. She is
incredibly motivating because she truly cares
about her clients. Cindy has been teaching
aerobics for 12 years and once owned her own
aerobics studio in New Jersey. She is a Physical
Therapy professional with Blue Ridge
Rehabilitation, one of MedFit’s health care
partners. Cindy has 3 children and is the author
of a book for children about being accepted with
disabilities. When Cindy is not running her
children to activities, she loves hiking in the
mountains.

Neolus
Walston (Lifestyle Counselor) Neolus
runs a tight ship in the fitness center, keeping
things organized and orderly. She excels at member
relations and can take your blood pressure while
getting your entire life story. She also has a
creative talent for bulletin boards and flyers at
MedFit. Neolus graduated from Boston University
with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical
Engineering. She is married and has four children,
who are involved in soccer, football, track and
baseball. A college friend once told her that her
name means sweet and gentle breeze.

Heather
Weatherholtz (General Manager, Personal
Trainer)
Put a little sunshine in your
life and have a talk with Heather! This bright and
cheerful fitness professional is full of energy
and enthusiasm. She earned a bachelor’s degree in
Health Science from James Madison University and
is also certified by the American Counsel on
Exercise as a personal trainer and group fitness
instructor. She is an animal
lover with 2 dogs and 3 cats she calls her
children.
